Whether you have already purchased a NordicTrack S22i bike or are in the process of making a maybe.yes.no decision for a S22i, S27i Studio Bike, or the latest X24 Bike. we compiled a list of the most frequently asked reader questions with answers – about the bikes themselves, using a S22i, the S27i models and the X24 bike with iFIT, plus answers to some questions on delivery and setup.

Over the last few years NordicTrack has released three versions of the S22i, the original Studio Cycle in 2020, an updated 2021 version, and the latest S22i model for 2024. Each model had improvements over the other. We do reference them when there are differences between the earlier and current bike model.

Additionally, the NordicTrack S27i Studio Bike model was released with an impressive 27-inch HD screen and a model in 2024 a model with a 24-inch display (X24 Bike).

We will begin with a quick summary highlighting the latest Studio Cycle model updates that are shipping now.

Q. What are the Latest Updates and enhancements for the newer generation of S22i, S27i and X24 bike models

• The touchscreens are upgraded with improved graphics and a more powerful processor, which means it's faster and more responsive.

• WiFi connectivity improved, faster and more reliable.

• Easier Bluetooth connectivity for headphones and heart rate devices to iFIT with simple pairing and selecting from a device list. (2024)

• iFIT instructors' interactive AutoAdjust live-control for inclines, decline, and resistance is improved and further advanced with the new SmartAdjust option. (Discussed later in more detail)

• The 2024 Models incline/decline motor are much, much quieter & accurate.

• The 2024 console has been completely redesigned with the cooling fan placed in between the speakers.

• The phone holder between the weights now ships standard. On the S27i Studio bike the weights are now found behind the saddle whereas on the X24 Bike and S22i model they are near the handlebars.

• S22i/S27i bikes have forward-facing, 30-Watt speakers for a fuller sound.

• Improved Stability when power-riding out of the Saddle on the new models.

• The latest X24 Bike, S22i and S27i Studio bike models ship with Dual-Sided Pedals that on one side support cycling shoes with SPD cleats and a toe cage for riders with regular sneakers on the other side. 1.   Does the S22i automatically adjust your resistance and incline?

Yes, iFIT trainers can interactively adjust the incline grade, decline, speed, and resistance as you cycle with them – so you can focus on the ride – That’s Real-Time Trainer Coaching. For a more realistic road or trail-like experience, the S22i, S27i and X24 bikes all have a 20% incline & -10% decline. The bikes inclines and declines in-studio classes as well to sync with trainer cues and the terrain encountered during trail, road, and mountain trainer-led destination rides. This unique aspect applies to all Nordictrack Studio Bike models.

You can make your own adjustments. There are 24 levels of resistance on the S22i S27i and X24 bikes. If you want you can change the bike’s resistance yourself while in an iFIT workout, exiting AutoAjust control-mode allowing you to make resistance easier or harder to suit your own pace. You always have an option on the touchscreen to rejoin anytime by touching 'Follow Trainer' then the bike goes right back into live trainer-control mode.

SmartAdjust Resistance

A recent update for NordicTrack bikes is SmartAdjust. The goal of this new feature is to customize the level of intensity/difficulty or ease for you. This is based upon your fitness level and is calculated from previous resistance adjustments, incline, and decline modifications you have made during the current session or on past rides.

For example, if you’re experiencing a particular segment of a ride, to be too difficult or too easy, you can make your own resistance, incline, decline, and cadence adjustments. iFIT will then apply these changes across the entire session while remembering for future training — As you become stronger and fitter, iFIT SmartAdjust will start to take this into account and increase resistance over time — you always have the option anytime to disable SmartAdjust.

2. What user heights are able to use this bike?

Recommended height for riders to be between 4’10” to 6’10”

3. What is the weight capacity of the S22i bike?

Recommended maximum weight for S22i and S27i and X24 Bike riders is:
350 lbs. (As a side note Peloton recommends max. 297 lbs. for its bikes.)

S22i / S27i / X24 PEDAL UPDATE 2024

The latest version of the NordicTrack S22i Studio Cycle Bike, the S27i model and New X24 Bike now ships with Dual-sided pedals that support clip-in cycling shoes on one side and regular sneakers with a toe cage on the other side. If you want to upgrade your pedals (we recommend you do for the older models) supporting clip-in cycling shoes, we have some recommendations for both pedals and cycling shoes below.

4. Can you swap out the NordicTrack S22i pedals for clip-in cycle shoe pedals?

a.   Yes, you can switch out pedals on all studio exercise bikes for the pedal type of your choice so you can ride with clipless bike shoes if you prefer. We recommend Shimano PD-ME700 SPD pedals which have SPD dual-sided cleats. Pedals are easy to replace, as the NordicTrack S22i, S27i, X24, S15i, and S10i bike pedals all use 9/16 standard pedal thread. To change pedals just unscrew the ones on the bike and screw in the replacing clip-in ones. The Shimano PD-ME700 SPD are one POPULAR option, and they work well. You can Buy them at Amazon or shop there for other types and brands.

PEDALS INSTALL TIP:

Remember to line-up each pedal for the left and right side — Yes it does matter — because each pedal threads in opposite direction.

DUAL-COMBO PEDALS

As with the latest S22i and S27i X24 bike models, some Shimano and Venzo pedal versions are available with clip-on cleats on one side and have a toe cage type on the other side, which is great if you are sharing your bike with riders who prefer the cage style or, just want to use sneakers to ride.

The Venzo Shimano SPD Pedals with Toe Clips & Straps are extremely popular. Another good option of this type is Wellgo E229 Shimano SPD Compatible Pedals. You can find pedals that supports a combination, with either SPD compatibility on both sides or, SPD on one side, and Delta Cleat support on the other. The latter works well when sharing your bike with someone who has delta compatible cycle shoes, and you have SPD cleats on your cycle shoes. A Pedal set like BV Pedals Dual SPD & Look Delta Compatible¹ pedals below are a good example of this type.

b. With clip-in pedals your power and efficiency is increased — being clipped-in allows for more power exerted. Cycling shoes can be 30% more efficient as your foot is connected to the pedal so it is easier on the pull. Cycling shoes tend to have harder platforms so they are also more comfortable – especially on climbs out of the saddle. Additionally, Clip-in cycle shoes will not bend as much allowing pressure to be more evenly distributed throughout your sole.

MTB style shoes let you do floor exercises off the bike with the SPD clips as the cleat is recessed inside the shoe sole, such as with the Tiem Cycle Shoe (a great Cycle shoe btw) mentioned below. This type of cycling shoe can be convenient if you like to do classes containing on-the-mat cross-training segments as the cleat is recessed into the outsole.

Recommended Cycling Shoes:

You can clip in with TIEM Slipstream cycling Shoes which are VERY POPULAR as they are quick and easy to put on / remove, and the cleats are well recessed allowing you to walk around normally or for doing off-the-bike cross-training segments. SHIMANO Indoor Cycling Shoes can be purchased for a lower price at Amazon.
It’s Recommend you size up as these shoes tend to run a little small and can run narrow. See our article on other recommended cycle shoes.

For riders who need or prefer a wider spin shoe we have a great recommendation — the Sidi Alba 2 Mega Cycling Shoe. This is an excellent cycling shoe but, runs more expensive than those we mention above. This is a high-quality constructed bike shoe with most of the individual parts being replaceable once they’ve worn out. It Comes with a 3-hole design that will work with Delta clips for Peloton or SPD clips for the Nordictrack S22i and S27i Bike.

5.   Does the S22i have a swivel screen for off the bike workouts?

YES, the console and touchscreen swivels 360 degrees and tilts/pivots up and down so you can better participate in off-the-bike workout segments or other iFIT cross-training options like yoga or strength training. This is a good practical feature (not found on the Original Peloton Bike and many other indoor bike models) making for much better flexible viewing.

Peloton UPDATE: The Peloton Bike+ has added a swivel/pivot feature to the touchscreen – but you will pay $600 more for the bike plus $528 for the first year of Peloton classes, and weights are not included as they are with Nordictrack S22i or S27i and X24 bike models.

6.   Can I cast to my big screen TV from the S22i
console?

There was an HDMI port on the early S22i models to accomplish this or you can use the “Just Ride” Mode which disengages from iFIT, and watch a nearby TV or use a tablet positioned over the screen to stream their own app content and/or cast to a smart TV. See 6a. below.

iFIT has released iFIT TV for Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Google TV – Roku is now available as well. Even though the iFIT TV app does not directly connect to your bike the app gives you access to the entire iFIT Library so you can enjoy your favorite workouts on a bigger screen. Every workout available on your iFIT-enabled bike, phone, or tablet is available in the iFIT TV app.

S15i Bike Note: This NordicTrack model never included an HDMI port.

6a. How do I mount a tablet on my S22i so I can use the Peloton app, Netflix or other apps?

IFIT now supports Netflix and Prime Video - however if you want to use your own tablet for any specific App a good way to mount a tablet on your S22i is to purchase from Amazon a clear plastic tablet holder (better than the color options which use a softer plastic). Put something between the holder and your bike screen, like small felt stick-on tabs to avoid scratches. Place the S22i in “Just Ride” mode (manual mode) or mute the sound on one of your favorite workouts and sweat away to the Peloton instructor motivational chatter and blast the music!

7. Does iFIT have Music with their classes

YES. iFIT recently expanded its music library with 11 new music stations to choose from for your workout. A nice upgrade for iFit members. These music channels are also available on the iFIT TV app on Apple TV, Fire TV, and Google/Android TV. But NOT available on Roku at this time.

To change music options on iFIT follow these steps:

1. Tap the screen during warmup or during your workout.
2. Tap the audio settings button
3. Tap the music tab

Then select the Station you want by tapping on it.

7a.    Does the S22i Bike have pop music?

In the past Music was not an iFIT strong point. Music licensing can be difficult and is expensive. iFIT originally added popular mainstream music from FEED.FM providing two channels, one for upbeat cardio and the other a calming yoga collection. This has now been superseded by the 11 new popular music channels outlined above in Q.7.

You can always listen to your own music and still have the instructors control your bike. Just turn the music down and listen to your own mix while still hearing the instructor on the screen as there are separate controls for music and instructor volume. When you click the volume, 3 options appear on your screen: master volume, trainer, and music. You can also find cool Peloton mixes on Spotify. Type in the instructors’ names like Cody Rigsby, Robin Arzon, Ally Love to find specific lists. You can find great cardio and cycle playlists on Amazon music (free with Prime). Use a lightning to 3.5 mm aux. audio cable and play music through the bike. Cable available online at Target or Amazon.

You can use other music apps for studio classes on your smartphone, tablet, or mirror to a smart TV screen if you want more music-focused spin classes. The downside is you will miss out on the trainer-controlled resistance and lose integrated rider stats.

7b. How to turn off the music on iFIT?

To completely turn music off, simply tap the screen within a workout, then tap the “Music-On Music-Off” icon to turn music off. You can always turn it back on anytime you decide.

Alternatively, you can make volume adjustments > When you click the volume. Three options should appear on your screen: master volume, trainer, and music. Just slide the music all the way down as much as you like, and you shouldn't be able to hear it.

More ADVANCED Option: To Block feed.fm on your router if this method is preferable. To do this you can blacklist feed.fm IP address at your router, for no music and no title box appearance on the bike's screen. IP address for feed.fm is 35.162.81.245

7c. Does iFIT have Closed Captioning?

YES. Closed Captioning (CC) is now available in English, Spanish to Russian, and currently a total of 10 languages for your iFIT enabled S22i, S27i and S15i bike. New languages are being added and currently include English

• Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Russian,

• Chinese, Dutch, Italian and Norwegian.

Closed captioning is available on the iFIT TV app on Apple TV, Fire TV, and Google/Android TV. But NOT available on Roku at this time.

(CC) is not yet available on Live Events, but we will keep you updated.

To turn closed captioning on or off during a workout, tap the screen during a workout > toggle Closed Captions on or off at the bottom left-hand corner.

8. Does NordicTrack S22i have Bluetooth?

YES! three ways. First, iFIT supports most Bluetooth 5.0. devices and headphones including AirPods 2nd generation. and AirPods Pro 3rd Gen. After you select and Tap “start workout”, you will see the “Connect to headphones” button appear (If you have the latest iFIT version) from one of 4 places: the warm-up screen, On the pause screen, next to the volume slider, on the cool-down screen. Pick the model of your headphones from the on-screen list, making sure your headphones are on and in pairing mode. The Volume will be automatically set at 5%. You can adjust to a higher or lower setting using the volume slider on the screen.

Second, for older 2021 models you can plug-in a Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver Adapter ($15-$35) for your Bluetooth device Buy Bluethooth adaptor at Amazon. Using the auxiliary music port with a Bluetooth smart (BLE) receiver, to connect your device to the console and workout to your favorite music through any wireless headphones or ear pods.

Third, see steps on how to unlock Bluetooth on your the original S22i bike below for more advanced features control. But since iFIT fully supports Bluetooth 5.0 most people will just use the simpler method below with the later exercise bike models

9.   Can I use wireless Bluetooth headphones like Apple AirPods?

Yes, there are three ways. Tap the “Connect to headphones” button in iFIT and select your wireless headphones from the list – see steps above in the previous question. Second, for older bike models get an adapter at Amazon also described in the previous question. Alternatively for older models, enter S22i admin mode and pair your headphones or speakers. You can use these steps below, provided courtesy by the iFIT community, to unlock Bluetooth and get more access to native Android features:

Remember to exit admin mode when pairing is complete by repeating the first 3 steps so as to allow the iFIT app to automatically start as opposed to going directly into admin mode as the default.

UPDATE to Privilege Mode

If you download the latest iFIT update, you may find Privilege or Admin Mode access, is restricted by a popup that requests you call NordicTrack for a code to enter granting access. This access is temporary, requiring you have to call each time.

10. Does the S22i bike have any pre-downloaded workouts?

Yes, on some of the older original models of the S22i bike there are 20 professionally designed pre-loaded workouts and courses. However, for the new later S22i models these were phased out. You do not have to log-in or use iFIT to access the pre-loaded workouts. With the later models browse/filter the iFIT library and get to know the trainers and type of sessions available – sometimes 30 days of iFit membership is included free for special promotions but not always. There is also a series of free rotating daily iFit workouts that present the workout of the day you can take.

11. Will my butt hurt from riding the first few weeks?

Give your body a couple of weeks of active use to acclimate and adjust. It should get better and go away. Promise!

NordicTrack did introduce an upgraded saddle in the 2024 S22i bike, but if you prefer, you can always change the saddle for a more padded and/or wider seat. That said, given a little time you will more than likely not need to, but this is more of a personal preference. 12. Are there WiFi issues with iFIT ?

No, nearly all are due to your internet at home depending on connectivity with your WiFi router, its location, and available bandwidth. The latest model S22i S27i and X24 bike supports dual 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz Wi-Fi Connectivity eliminating buffering and other connectivity issues you may have read about with the earlier models.

If you have WiFi issues in general on higher floors or a basement level, you can try a Wi-Fi booster which does seem to solve most home internet issues with iFIT. The Google Wi-Fi Router works better than an extender and also comes in 2 or 3 packs with extra pods. Check it out at Amazon and read the verified review comments, you’ll find some goods internet tips there with real-world experiences as well.

[MYN PRO TIP:] It is always a good idea to do an iFIT Systems Status check before troubleshooting. You can use any browser or device to do this. Here you will find a page that shows you if there are any system issues. If you scroll down, you can find a listing of past & current incidents. [ https://status.ifit.io/#past-incidents ] Another good idea is to check/test your home network speed. Use fast.com or speedtest.net.

While our recent experience with iFIT enabled equipment from a Wi-Fi speed and operational perspective has been very good to exceptional, besides router location, another big factor to consider is the amount of bandwidth available. This should be the checked/addressed to ensure a good experience. If your home network already has a lot of devices using your available bandwidth you may have to make adjustments.

13.  Can you watch TV on NordicTrack Studio Cycle

YES, IFIT now supports Netflix and Amazon Prime Video streaming. iFIT has added the capability to watch Netflix and Amazon Prime Video while you work out. There is an overlay that displays your workout statistics over the streamed video, so you can keep track how the session is going at the same time. For earlier bike models this was one of the most demanded features we covered for the Nordictrack S22i/S227i Studio Bike FAQs on how some users achieved this, now it’s to become a native iFit option not a hack.

If you have an Apple TV or an Amazon Firestick you can download the iFIT app and watch iFIT workouts on any Large TV screen using your iFIT credentials to log in.

FOR PRE 2021 S22i MODELS

There is an HDMI out only on some older models (pre-2021). So, you can display workout classes from the S22i studio bike on a wide-screen TV, but out of the box, you cannot play other media on the bike console at this time – if this is important for you, see the workaround below or see answer 6a above to use a tablet to achieve this.

A COOL NETFLIX WORKAROUND

There is a workaround to download and watch Netflix and other apps¹ if you gain access to Privileged mode. It turns out for the newer NordicTrack bikes, treadmills, and incline trainers like the S22i bike, X22i, and X32i incline treadmill models, have an easy way to access privileged mode.

STEPS: How to access Privileged Mode? [ ADMIN MODE ]

Go to the settings mode > go to maintenance > then in the space below the options, in the empty white space.… Tap the same spot 10 times. Wait 5-7 seconds Tap the same spot 10 more times. It will then pop up that "privileged mode is enabled" If you do it again, it will disable privileged mode. When you enable it, you can drag down from the top and get access to the menu bar > go into android settings. You can also swipe up from the bottom and get to the default apps - it has a browser, camera, iFIT admin, and the iFIT cardio app.

Through the browser you can navigate to netflix.com. Login and then click on your name and click help center. Search for APK and open first article. Then look for “click here to download Netflix app”. Go to downloads and click the downloaded file. Next click the “install” prompt and you are ready to watch Netflix. Privilege Mode UPDATE

If you download the latest iFIT update, you may find Privilege or Admin Mode access, is restricted by a popup that requests you call NordicTrack for a code to enter granting access. This access is temporary, requiring you to call each time.

14.   How do you turn the fan on?

The fan is mounted directly beneath the S22i console touchscreen on older models. On the latest S22i and S27i X24 bike models, the console has been redesigned and you will find the fan nicely placed between the two speakers. The On/Off and fan speed buttons are located on the right-hand side of the fan.

15.  How to turn off NordicTrack S22i Bike

The latest S22i bike shipping has a power button you can use to switch off your bike. Another option is to unplug the power cord from the wall. One popular suggestion is to use an APC Smart Plug Wi-Fi Power Strip which you can find at Amazon. Or an APC model with USB ports.

The Kasa Smart Plug Power Strip HS300, Surge Protector works well with Alexa and provides good surge protection. “Alexa turn off my bike” or “Alexa I’m ready to Ride.”

The latest S22i and S27i, X24 Studio Bikes do have a power-off switch for the bike, which will also power-off the touchscreen display.

Mentioned earlier the Nordictrack S22i bike ships with a rectangular-shaped DC power supply with a power cord. To protect the electronics, we recommend you unplug the power from the wall and not the bike if you do not have good surge protection. With a power strip you can just switch it off.

Console Sleep Mode

If the pedals do not move for several minutes, the screen is not touched, and the buttons are not pressed, the console will automatically go into sleep mode and will wake up when you touch the screen with a prompt. There is not an independent power-off button to switch off a Nordictrack S22i touchscreen.

On some of older original pre 2021 models there is a power off button. Find the Red Switch right next to the power cord. This powers on / off the touchscreen as well.

16. Is there a place to keep my phone on the S22i?

With the latest S22i Bike an improved weight-holder tray ships with the bike. Good for keeping your cell phone, airPods etc. Prior years this part was a hot frequently out-of-stock item on Nordictrack’s parts site. The X24 and S27i Studio Bike also have this option.

iFIT Pro is a personal training connected-fitness platform designed specifically for your studio bike and offers iFIT members live races and events with over 18,000 on-demand streamed studio and destination trainer-led workouts streamed to your bike’s touchscreen. iFIT also covers running, hiking, walking, 5k and half marathons, marathons, rowing, yoga, strength training, and boxing plus an amazing selection of curated destination workout series across all seven continents. From outstanding diverse locations in Antarctica, French Polynesia, Thailand, Africa, Croatia, and Peru to spectacular cities like Paris, Rome, London, and New York.

Bike Workout options are best categorized into Five types: Studio classes, Road Races, Google Maps, Trainer-Led Destination workouts, and Live Events. You have loads of options to pick from and the classes vary by trainer, length, difficulty, and type – with new classes and content constantly being added.

One of the many aspects iFit offers over all other apps is that trainers can in real-time live control with the AutoAdjust feature, your speed, resistance, incline, or decline to sync with a studio or destination workout class. For instance, during a destination ride as the terrain, you are biking through changes in the Austrian or Swiss Alps series, for example, your trainer changes it up for an upcoming incline or hill and your bike actually inclines and resistance increases depending on the workout level selected. This is not a gimmick; you will feel the burn! as it adds an extra level of intensity to your ride.

2. Does NordicTrack S22i bike work without iFit?

Yes, the S22i bike can be used standalone without iFit Pro. Speed, incline, and resistance adjustments can be made manually via touchscreen, by pressing one-touch side buttons on the console or using the quick-access adjustment buttons on handlebars or grips. Additionally, on some older models (pre-2021) there are 20 onboard workouts that are available for use without iFit. You do not need to take a class to view your stats.

iFIT is extremely impressive, especially the destination trainer-led workout rides and progressive challenge series rides that can span several weeks.

3. How much does iFit Pro cost?

For iFit Pro membership, iFit COSTS JUST ABOUT $1 PER DAY. For most NordicTrack equipment, iFit subscription is not included. If you pay for iFit Pro annually, the cost is $396 ($33/month) saving $72 or 15% for the PRO option. Otherwise, you can pay a monthly $39, which works out to about a dollar a day.

iFit is offers impressive value, with an iFit Pro - family style membership you can add an additional 4 user profiles for the total of 5 members. Later down the road, if you decide to add an iFit enabled Treadmill, Elliptical or Rower, or any other iFit exercise gear, there are no additional charges.

4.  Can I use iFit on other equipment?

Yes, if you buy other exercise equipment from NordicTrack, FreeMotion or ProForm you can use the same iFit membership. With the extensive choices of workouts, it is excellent value covering any additional equipment purchases like rowers, ellipticals or treadmills – you get further access to equipment-specific studio and destination workouts with your current membership. You also get the iFit app included in your membership so you can travel with iFit and use a tablet or smart phone or Apple TV to use all the workouts both off and on equipment.

5.   Can you Pause an iFit workout?

Yes, you can. Just tap the middle of the screen and you will then be offered a pause button option to pause for 10 minutes. If you stop pedaling it also goes to the same screen and you can pause your workout. When a workout is paused, a yellow dot appears on the leaderboard above your name to indicate that your workout was modified or paused, and the Paused Workout screen pops up with the ten-minute timer. With this feature, you select to pause/stop the current ride for 10 minutes and repeat again if needed.

While on the “Pause” subject, it should be mentioned you can also pause your iFit membership for up to three months if the need arises. Either for a planned event or something unexpected may prevent you from using your studio bike.

6.   Does the S22i bike have live classes?

No, not currently, except for some live events. iFit schedules live races and events occasionally. You will see the On Air icon blinking at the bottom right-hand corner of the touchscreen when a live race or event is airing. You can choose to join by pressing this icon. Last year there was a schedule of them to plan ahead, but we have not seen one for this year. To view schedule, follow this link.

There are also cross-training off-the-bike classes, such as boxing, core and yoga. During Covid-19 iFit trainers were airing classes live from their home-gym workout spaces which was kind of fun – if you arrived online early to a workout, you could ask trainers questions via text. Trainers called out participants during a class – In the studio Live classes, may resume again at a later date, we look forward to seeing them and live events again.

9.   Is there a 100-ride reward?

After riding over 100 workouts.... You earn an exclusive digital award for the digital trophy case. After 200 completed workouts: 1 free month of iFit is added to your membership. You have to contact iFit to ask for your free month with an image of the screen showing 200 completed workouts. Other iFit workout rewards are:

• 300 workouts: an entry in the contest to win a trip to the iFit studio in Utah.

• 500 workouts: an entry into a contest to win a trip to the iFit Studio.

There are also monthly challenges you can join to earn digital trophy rewards.

10.   Can I watch other apps on the S22i screen without using iFit or do I need to watch on my iPad?

You can use your smart phone or your tablet – Put your bike in manual mode if you do not wish to use iFit classes and only want to use the bike itself or follow a different app on another device. You can download an app to a Roku or Amazon Fire TV stick and watch on any TV screen. See 6a. answer in hardware section above – How to mount a tablet on my S22i so I can use the Peloton app, Netflix or other apps.

You can also mirror/screen share from a tablet/phone to a smart TV directly. Just be sure to put your S22i bike in manual mode and you use your smart device to mirror a class or cast an app to your TV.

11.   How many users allowed with iFit Pro accounts?

You can have up to a total of 5 people with separate usernames. The primary user sends an email invite to up to 4 other members to set up their profile to schedule workouts, track statistics and settings separately. This makes iFit personal training a good value for a family or any shared living situation where you have multiple people wanting to use the S22i bike or other iFit enabled gear.

12.   Are there any workouts in Spanish?

Yes, there is a search by language to find iFit workouts in Spanish plus 9 other languages with more being added. Spanish is also available for Closed captioning (cc). Closed Captioning is available across all other supported languages, for most workout classes on NordicTrack equipment, and the iFit app. Currently, this does not include Live races or events.

iFit supports the Following Languages: Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Chinese, Dutch, Italian and Norwegian.

13.   Is there a way to have the iFit video on the S22i be full screen and hide all the stats and numbers?

Yes, tap the screen during the ride and to the right of the pause button a “Full Screen” button appears or just swipe up on the stats bar that’s along the top, be sure you touch in a white area and not on a number.

Same thing for leaderboard. Just swipe right off – sideways.

14.   Do iFit rides simulate hills and Terrain Changes?

Yes, an interesting and unique feature of iFit technology, which you will not find on other exercise equipment, including the Peloton Bike. (The Peloton Bike+ supports only resistance control but not actual incline/declines of the bike). iFit enables trainers to automatically control and adjust the incline, decline, resistance, or speed to sync with a studio class you’re taking or to match the destination terrain you are biking through – or if you have an iFit enabled treadmill – running, walking, or hiking on so you can focus on your workout without having to worry about making any adjustments. What makes this option/feature so effective is that it makes you work harder than you might on your own. It is not a gimmick!

In fact, S22i bike riders love this option! You ride with a trainer leading you on and encouraging you to maintain cadence (RPMs) plus reminding you of the correct form, posture, and breathing – yet without all the yelling of stats at you as with Peloton.

1.   Is the S22i easy to Assemble?

It is very doable; assembly takes about 30-60 minutes. We recommend two people, when it comes time to mount the console/display. Some parts are a bit tedious but overall, it’s straight-forward for most people. To watch a YouTube video on how to assemble follow this link: View S22i Bike Assembly.

If you’re not into DIY or do not have anyone handy to assist. We recommend you purchase the assembly option to avoid unnecessary frustration.

You can have the bike set up in the room of your choice plus assembly included for $199 to $249. This is a great option to ease delivery, assembly, and setup, ensuring the bike is 100% functional and is ready for use.

2. Can you put the bike on carpet?

Yes, no issues with this placement but, you’ll probably find it works better with a good mat. There may be some possible wear to your carpet, so you may want to consider buying a high-density equipment mat at Amazon to also catch sweat and large enough to do some off-the-bike cross-training. Your knees will thank you.

We really like Gorilla Mats. (a little on the pricey side, but worth it). You can find them, plus shop a ton of other less expensive brands like BalanceForm or from a variety of Exercise bike mats 36" x 72" smaller and larger. One we particularly like, Cycle Deal Mat found on Amazon as well. These mats are all good, offering surface protection, and stability on carpet or other surfaces.

5. Why does iFit Pro want an additional user to pick a plan when trying to login on?

Additional users are added by an email initiated from the primary profile. Log into your account as the primary user (master account) and add a member. You must send an invite email for each additional user so they can create and setup their profile.

The iFit Pro account has a primary profile that can add additional members via invite email. If you try to set up an account without going through the invite email, iFit thinks you want a new and completely separate account.

6.   How do I activate the free iFit membership? Should I be looking for a card or a code?

Yes, there is a card and / or a peel-off sticker inside the box “BEFORE FIRST USE” with an activation code and the web URL address to go to and use your code.

If you purchase from Nordictrack, you should also receive an e-mail to set up your iFit account before delivery. Otherwise, when your equipment arrives, you can add the code on your bike touchscreen after connecting your bike to iFit via Wi-Fi.

Alternatively, you may find it easier to do this using a laptop or desktop when performing administrative tasks like adding the iFit membership activation Codes or adding additional users so they can login into iFit to track / schedule their own workouts.

Sometimes, a card (which looks like a gift card) with a printed code on the back, can be in the shipping box with the equipment. If you do not find either or have an issue call customer service at 1-866-608-1798 or preferably use Chat, tends to be quicker. They are helpful and will provide an activation code. You may have to provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt or image of the box that states the coverage period.

7.   What is the difference between the Extended Warranty and Maintenance Plan from NordicTrack?

Regardless of where you buy your bike an extended warranty covers frame, parts, and labor for an extended time. The Maintenance Plan includes the extended warranty time and an annual maintenance checkup each year for three years by request in your home and covers 15 points.
