THE IFIT EVEREST WORKOUT SERIES
Everest: A Trek to Base Camp is an 18-part, interactive treadmill workout which recreates a hike to Everest Base Camp. The workout-series can be streamed on-demand to exercise equipment at home by NordicTrack, ProForm, and FreeMotion. Or independantly, via the iFIT app on Android and Apple devices, including Apple TV, Google, and Amazon TV.
Exercise equipment powered by iFIT can automatically adjust the incline, decline speed, or resistance to match the terrain of your workout, creating a unique, immersive, and interactive experience that syncs in real-time as it's displayed in HD to a treadmill, elliptical, HIIT trainer or incline treadmill's touchscreen. iFit members can climb, hike, and trek up challenging inclines and downward declines.
The 18-part, interactive workout series is designed for all fitness levels, presented by a trio of experts who also cover some history and a variety of stories giving context and meaning to the destination and the training.
HISTORY MAKING
On Monday, March 22, 2021, iFit presented a Live Workout from Mount Everest with iFit Guide Kenton Cool to the Fit community.
iFit members hiked up Kala Patthar with Kenton and the climbing team ending at the summit with a stunning view of Mount Everest in the distance at sunrise and close-ups of beautiful colorful Tibetan prayer flags. The 5 vibrant flag colors represent blue for the sky, white for air and wind, green for water, yellow for the earth and, red for fire. Himalayan Buddhists believe they carry goodwill and are hung to pass on well wishes and prayers to all those who come across the path, with each blessing carried on the wind as they flutter. There is a lot of local history and unique cultural aspects learned along the trek all communicated by the iFit guides as they go.
Take a 25-minute hike up Kalla Pattar roughly at 18,000 feet above sea level. You hike an elevation of 825 ft. to the summit viewpoint of Everest Base Camp, in time to see the sunrise.
If you are an iFit member you find this destination-adventure workout available to schedule for your iFit enabled exercise equipment anytime.
